All sterile products need to remain free from microbial contamination. Inspection of media vials is necessary to ensure that parenteral manufacturing processes are capable of producing sterile vials. Here we present method development and validation data demonstrating that microbial growth can be detected rapidly and precisely in media vials by measuring changes in headspace gas concentration.
Download this poster to understand how laser-based headspace analysis can be used to detect microbial growth in media vials, by measuring the depletion of oxygen and/or the production of carbon dioxide in sealed pharmaceutical vials.
